Established in 2005 and completed in the spring of 2006, Arbutus Point Camp recreates the simple early days of T'ai Li Lodge with a few uncommon conveniences. Surrounded by the sea and a mixed Pine, Fir and Arbutus (Madrona) forest, Arbutus Point Camp can serve up to five separate groups of between one to four people each. When operating in this mode, accommodation rates will include a healthy gourmet breakfast in July and August.

All guests at Arbutus Point Camp are able to use 'Arbutus Commons' (also called 'The Commons'), which is a unique cedar clad building with a living green moss roof. It has double level decks with steps leading down to the ocean shore. The Commons has space available for outdoor or indoor dining. Everyone has a 'waterfront table' with views across Desolation Sound to the snow-capped Coast Mountain Range. The setting is astonishing — we still can't absorb how beautiful it is ourselves! Kayak storage and use of a small float and moorings in the bay are available for paddlers and boaters.

A complete kitchen, modern toilets and showers, and generous indoor space are available for the use of Arbutus Point Camp guests. The Commons can also be utilized for family reunions, kayak clubs, yoga retreats or workshop sessions.

Juniper Cabin	Sea Lion Platform Tent

Located in secluded waterfront locations around the Commons are two rustic cabins and two platform tents. The platform tents feature luxurious standup tents sheltered by Cedar shake roofs.

All are furnished with comfortable beds and full linen service. You only need to bring your personal gear. In addition to the Commons, these cabins and platform tents are supported by a conveniently located outhouse and an outdoor wash house with a sink in one section and a truly wonderful outdoor solar hot shower in the other. Once you have tried it, you will always choose to shower outside for the view, the squirrels scampering in the trees, and the birds singing all around you.

Arbutus Point Campsite

Arbutus Point Camp also includes two oceanfront camp sites that guests are welcome to pitch their own tents on. One camping area will accommodate up to four persons in two expedition style tents. The other one will accommodate one expedition tent for two people.

Please note that these campsites are not "drive-in" -- they are a short walk by trail from the parking area, so please pack accordingly. Also, we do not allow use of camp stoves or camp lanterns that use fuel - most of our season is hot and dry and total campfire and burning bans are in effect. We hae provided a complete kitchen facility on the property as a mandatory alternative to campsite cooking.
