Overlooking our tranquil bay, the Cottage enjoys a perfect blend of spectacular forest and waterfront views, with iconic Mount Denman to the North and the entrance to Desolation Sound and the northern Georgia Strait to the Southeast. The morning light streams into the living area and reflects a golden green glow into the bedroom from the bank behind. The soaring windows ensure that there is lots of light all through the day, but the Cottage remains cool in the long summer afternoons. Under-floor heating and a wood fire keep it cozy in the colder weather.

The wrap around decks invite outdoor living, with birds, squirrels and deer for company. The grounds have been kept completely natural, with easy access to the beach. Privacy screens of trees have been left to ensure privacy from the Lodge itself. The guests share the use of 3 deep water moorings and a large float which offers kayak storage as well as a secure tie-up for boats up to 40 ft.

The Cottage is a small, private, fully-furnished home that was completed in 2014. Built by local designer/builder, Hubert Havelaar, and artist/craftsman, Brian Genn, it features a custom interior of locally milled Cortes timber. It is the most accessible of our accommodations, with a very short path from the bottom of the driveway to the main entrance. The single floor living space consists of a fully equipped kitchen and living/dining room (including TV and sound system), a full bathroom with tub and shower, and one bedroom with a queen bed. A second large sleeping space in a loft is accessed by a boat style ladder (cross between a ladder & stairs) with a queen bed and room for two single beds. There is good wireless internet and cell phone reception. A washer and dryer are available in the adjoining office.

We provide a variety of reading material, games and music, as well as information about all of the wonderful things to do on Cortes Island. Located a short 8 minute drive from Mansons Landing or Squirrel Cove, guests are close to the beaches, lakes and trails, as well as to the school, community centre, shopping, restaurants, and Hollyhock.

Moorage: Use of the dock ”in season” (late April to June, and September to late October) Additional moorage charges will apply for use of dock and facilities by boats other than those belonging to our guests. Please enquire.

• The Cottage is not suitable for young children.
• Pets are not accepted at T’ai Li Lodge.

Flexible Group Size Possibilities The Cottage can be used in combination with Arbutus Point Camp in the Shoulder season during the months of May, June and September.

"We stayed at T'ai Li Lodge for the month of November in the beautifully appointed cedar wood cottage. Nestled in amongst the trees with stunning views of the bay, the cottage is warmly decorated, exceptionally peaceful and equipped with everything we needed. Carol and Steve are kind and knowledgeable hosts whose generosity made our stay all the more memorable. Kayaking at this time of the year in the crystal clear waters was an incredible experience and we were even fortunate enough to paddle with a humpback whale only a few hundred metres off the T'ai Li shore!
